MIT's Class of 2027: A Summary of Admissions Statistics

MIT has once again demonstrated its competitiveness in the admissions process, with only a small percentage of applicants being admitted. In the Regular Decision round, out of a total of 14,990 applicants, only 574 new students were accepted, equating to a 3.8% acceptance rate.

Similarly, during the Early Action round, MIT received 11,924 applications and admitted only 685 students, resulting in an acceptance rate of 5.7%.

For the incoming Class of 2027, MIT received a total of 26,914 applications and admitted 1,259 students, which translates to an overall acceptance rate of 4.7%.

It's worth noting that the number of applications for the Class of 2026 decreased by 20.4% compared to the previous year, with 33,796 applications received.

Finally, it's important to mention that the Class of 2027 was the first cohort to apply since the reinstatement of test requirements.
