Johns Hopkins University Admits 1,592 Students to Class of 2027

Johns Hopkins University has offered admission to 1,592 students from 47 U.S. states, 39 countries, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and Guam to join the Regular Decision cohort of the Class of 2027. These students will be joining the 811 students who were admitted during Early Decision I and Early Decision II to make up the next incoming undergraduate class of the university.

Ellen Chow, the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, expressed her excitement at how these young students are imagining themselves as agents of positive change for the future. These students have demonstrated qualities that align with the university's student body, and the university looks forward to their contribution to the campus and the world.

The university also notes that the students have demonstrated a strong desire to serve their communities, with 93% of them holding part-time jobs, internships, or summer jobs, and 55% being involved in student government or advocacy work. Of the admitted students, 18% will be among the first in their families to attend college.

Chow emphasizes that what is truly impressive about these students is not just their achievements, but how they went about accomplishing them. The students have been identified by their high school teachers and counselors as lifelong learners and global citizens with true selflessness, unwavering kindness to others, and insightful conversations beyond school events and grades.

The admitted students have until May 1, 2023, to accept their spot in the class, and the university looks forward to welcoming them to their campus.
