USC Experiences a 17% Increase in First-Year Applications

USC witnessed a 17% increase in the number of applications received during the 2022-2023 admissions cycle, with almost 81,000 applications for first-year admission. This increase can be attributed to the introduction of Early Action as an application plan last summer. USC's Regular Decision results will be announced on Friday, March 24, with notifications sent out in the late afternoon Pacific time. USC expects to admit approximately 8,000 first-year students for the fall 2023 admission, including the 2,470 admitted through Early Action. The university will publish final enrollment statistics later in the year, and the competition for limited space is expected to be considerably higher this year. USC will notify approximately 1,000 admitted students of their merit scholarship application results on March 25.

USC does not utilize a waiting list but instead offers a smaller group of students admission to the spring term, which begins in January 2024. If any room is available in the fall class after May 1, the university will invite some spring admits to change their term to fall. All students who submit their spring Intent to Enroll form by May 1 will be considered for any available space. USC has announced plans to open a new campus in Washington, DC, earlier this month.
